Floating Images & Sustainability
Floating Images & Sustainability
As a long running family operated boutique ballooning business, Floating Images Hot Air Balloon Flights is committed to providing a professional and personal ballooning experience for all our guests to enjoy, ensuring sustainable tourism practices are undertaken (environmental, economic and social performance) whilst making minimal impact on the environment, embracing diversity and inclusion and supporting the community in which we service.
Hot Air Ballooning is an experience that embraces transformational travel for guests of all ages and walks of life; enabling guests to connect with themselves and one another whilst enjoying a “once in a lifetime” or “bucket list” experience celebrating personal occasions or milestones whilst sharing in an early morning sunrise, the wonders of nature awakening, and engaging with the surrounding environment and people around them.
Floating Images Hot Air Balloon Flights and our Founder and Chief Pilot for every flight has been sharing our boutique ballooning experience with all our guests for over 23 years and has been aloft in a balloon wicker basket as a Balloon Pilot for over 32 years; Graeme Day is passionate about ballooning and wishes to share it personally, professionally and safely with all.
Making a Positive Impact
Care for the Environment
Floating Images aims to protect, restore and promote sustainable use of our environment and endeavours to adhere to the Tread Lightly code of practice which is designed to minimize environmental impact.
The Tread Lightly Principles were developed to educate recreational users in caring for the environment and to assist in keeping areas and trails open for public use. The key principle being if we don’t care for the environment we will be restricted or locked out of these areas. Floating Images respects and appreciates all our landowners, local & state parks from which we are privileged to launch & land our balloon safely with our balloon support and passengers.
We believe it is our obligation to take environmental steps across all aspects of our business (in the office as well as in the field), and to be able to look retrospectively and proactively on the decisions we make as a business today and in the years ahead. We strive to be a sustainable company, with a planting program in place to ensure that we are contributing to making things better and minimize our impact. Our passengers are also welcome to plant 1 or 2 plants after their flight in their own garden or local environment to help offset their carbon footprint and leave a lasting legacy of their ballooning experience.
Our Commitment to Reducing Our Emissions – We are proud to participate in the Tourism Emissions Reduction Program. This initiative underscores our commitment to reducing our environmental impact and promoting sustainable practices.
